A Striated Heron, Butorides striata a new first for Kuwait

On 31st July Khaled Al-Ghanem photographed a  Striated Heron, Butorides striata at Sulaibikhat Bay, which is a first for Kuwait. There were no past records of this species in Kuwait  (The Birds of the State of Kuwait, George Gregory 2005). This record is of course subject to acceptance by KORC.

The bird only showed for a while and disappeared in the mangrove trees, it was not seen later but on 2nd August it was seen again briefly by another observer.
