09/04/2017 at Khiran and a boat trip
Today was the first day of the spring tour (8-16 April 2017). Participants: Massimiliano Dettori and Paul Chapman.
We started at Khiran, we saw a number of birds that includes:
Barred Warbler Sylvia nisoria 1, Turkestan Shrike Lanius phoenicuroides 2, Red-rumped Swallow Cecropis daurica 2, Mauryan Grey Shrike Lanius lahotra pallidirostris 1, Woodchat Shrike Lanius senator 3, Lesser Whitethroat Sylvia curruca 1, Common Rock Thrush Monticola saxatilis 3, Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin Cercotrichas galactotes 1, White-throated Robin Irania gutturalis 1, Isabelline Wheatear Oenanthe isabellina 2, Eastern Black-eared Wheatear Oenanthe (hispanica) melanoleuca 3, Pied Wheatear Oenanthe pleschanka 4, Whinchat Saxicola rubetra 1, European Bee-eater Merops apiaster 18, Common Swift Apus apus pekinensis 1, Barn Swallow Hirundo rustica 8, Eurasian Hoopoe Upupa epops 2, Red-throated Pipit Anthus cervinus 5.
Birdsofkuwait.com Tours arranged a boat trip to its visitors and invited the Big Year WP Team, Peter Colston, Peter Gluth, Humoud Al-Shayji, Omar Al-Shaheen and Markus Craig to join the boat trip. Highlights of the trip were:
