My visit today to Al Abraq shows that spring migration is in full swing. I had 4 Redstarts of race samamisicus which always migrate before ordinary Redstarts. I saw 2 Grey Wagtails, Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Blue-cheeked Bee-eaters, Great Reed Warbler, male Hypocolius, 4 Turkestan Shrikes, loads of Chiff Chaffs, Semi-collared Flycatcher, Red-rumped Swallow among Barn Swallows and Sand Martins. I saw also 4 Cattle Egrets, 9 Squacco Herons, Black-winged Stilt, Shikra, Marsh Harrier and two Steppe Eagles.
