In August migrant and wintering birds start to arrive in Kuwait in small numbers.
Yesterday a first record of Striolated Bunting was seen and photographed at SAANR by AmmarAlJeraiwi.
Also just less than a week ago, a Pygmy Cormorant was seen at Jahra Pool Rserve this is the 3rd record, by Omar Al Shaheen and Hamad Boresli.
Yesterday, a Booted Warbler was seen and photographed at probably Jahra Pool Reserve, this is a 4th record for Kuwait.
Today I visited Jahra Pool Reserve and Sulaibikhat Bay.
At Sulaibikhat Bay:
Ruff 3, Little Stint 10, Common Sandpiper 2, Little Ringed Plover 3, Armenian Gull 3, Steppe Gull 6.
At Jahra Pool reserve:
Grey Wagtail 3, Indian Reed Warbler 3, Ruff 5, Purple Heron 1, Mallard 3, Eurasian Coot 2, Ferruginous Duck 1, Little Grebe 12, Little Stint 20, Common Moorhen 10, Wood Sandpiper 1, Ruff, Whiskered Tern 3, Black-winged Tern 5, Squacco Heron 2, Little Ringed Plover 6, Black-winged Stilt 7, Purple Swamphen 6. Marsh Sandpiper 1, Green Sandpiper 2, Isabelline Wheatear 3, Collared Dove 8, Namaqua Dove 1, European Roller 2, Little Egret 6, White-throated Kingfisher 1, Glossy Ibis 1, Graceful Prinia 2.
