I visited the site with Mike & Sylvie Newey and Brian Foster. After checking several Robins and Chiff Chaffs we came across with Redstart type of bird. Eventually we were able to see wingbars and then I turned around to get my camera from the car left far away behind. Yes the bird is second Eversmann’s Redstart this autumn. It is female this time. One key feature in the field is behaviour. Eversmann’s Redstart does not flick its tail at all but may jerk it up and down.

After Al Abraq we visited Jahra Farms seeing mainly Song Thurshes and one or two Grey Hypocolius. I continued with Brian to Jahra Pool Reserve which is lacking water at the moment. However, we managed to see two Garganeys, three Purple Swamp-hens, Red-wattled Lapwing, two Wood Sandpipers and Jack Snipe.
